Iran raced an all-round performance with win over Bulgaria

Iran prevailed over Bulgaria 3-1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-20) in the opening match of the second week in FIVB Volleyball World League with a Group 1 match in Belgrade.

Saeid Marouflakrani, captain of Iran: This is a great victory for us, having in mind that we did not play well at all. We managed to pull ourselves together after the first set and it all went well in the end. Tomorrow we play against Brazil, and we are looking forward to that game. We have to play much better, but I hope that we can claim a good result.

Plamen Konstantinov, coach of Bulgaria: We played good in the beginning, won the first set, but then we lost our focus. Especially in the end of the second set, when our game fell apart. We had to play better and tried to win it, but we let Iran score on our mistakes. After that, we had our chances in the third set, but we missed it. I am not satisfied, tomorrow we must do much better.
